Aiding your sport injury recovery

Bounceback’s soul aim is getting injured athletes out of a negative mindset surrounding their injury and into a positive one. The app does this with its chat feature, allowing users to speak to people in similar positions to themselves and encourage a community to build. Having suffered two big sporting injuries myself, I knew firsthand the effect being injured and out of sport has, on not just your physical but mental health. I felt there was a significant gap in the market that offers support to injured every day athletes, who just need a boost to get back to playing.

Initially designed as a webapp, as part of a university project. On receiving feedback from tutors, there were many positive aspects to the website but also aspects that needed improvement. After graduating I worked on Bounceback as a personal project, turning it into an app rather than a website and really promoting the core principal of building a community of injured athletes, offering support and helping users adopt a more positive mindset.

Sign up Process

The sign up process aims to collate information about the user in as few steps as possible. Starting with the usual steps of setting up an account, with name email and password. Then getting your age and sex to help the user join communities of similar users. Once basic information is gathered the user will be asked more about their injury. Starting with what body part, then specifically what injury the user has. The final step before completing the sign up process is selecting what sport/s the user enjoys, plays or has interest in.
