APEX MAGAZINE

Apex was developed as a magazine for both current and aspiring Formula One fans, shifting the focus from the drivers and cars to the circuits that define the sport.

The editorial concept is built around two core messages: “Tales of the Track” and “For the Fans”, reinforcing the magazine’s focus on storytelling, accessibility and community.

Published eight times a year, each issue explores the history, character and stories behind iconic F1 circuits through editorial features, interviews and photography.

The design aims to create a distinctive, energetic publication that celebrates the visual culture of Formula One while giving the tracks themselves a stronger voice.

Covers

Each Apex issue is assigned one of four core colours: green, red, blue or pink. The palette was chosen to reflect the visual energy of Formula One while providing flexibility across colour, greyscale and duotone imagery.

The covers follow a consistent structure, featuring the Apex masthead, circuit imagery, edition number and location. Strong, recognisable imagery allows each circuit to be identified at a glance, while variations in colour and image treatment create distinction between issues.

The back cover continues the system with a simplified circuit layout, the “For the Fans” tagline and the previous ten race winners, combining editorial information with a strong graphic element.
